Enjoy these images of Shimol & Caleb! (prt 1)
We did part of the session at Middleton Place and then finished downtown Charleston! It was so sweet for the the engagement session to be during and right after the proposal. The newness of being engaged, the exciting thoughts about the future, the renewed love and passion for one another, soon to be a mr &mrs, are just a few reasons an engagement session right after the proposal is a great idea! Mason and Blair were so easy to photograph as they laughed and smiled the entire time, it was perfect! They made my job easy! So glad this Texas couple came to town and that I was able to capture these special moments for them!!
*Make sure to make it to the end, some of my favorites are there!!
~ I hope you enjoyed this blog! Congrats BLAIR & MASON
]]>Anna and David met at their college library (USC) and that was the start of their friendship! Within a year after growing their friendship they began dating and then got engaged on September 29th of last year. Their proposal story is the sweetest and so romantic! David set up a beautiful spot on a roof top to ask her the big question. This was NOT any rooftop, but the same one where they had their first date:)! So sweet.
On another note, as a photographer it is scary to offer free sessions or free products. We are scared of being taken advantage of or giving to much time. However, I have found that in the midst of running a business where everything cost something (for me and my clients) it is a breath of fresh air to do something for free! I am able to be more creative on the spot, more relaxed, and not have the pressure that normally accompanies a photo session. I asked Anna and David if they would be up for doing a Couple's Portrait Session downtown Charleston (for free) and they were excited to do it! I usually do my sessions at beaches, parks, and plantations, and I wanted to try something out of my comfort zone, I knew I needed to! This was something I have wanted to do for a while now but was to scared to try! Shooting a session downtown Charleston is not for the faint of heart! The lighting, the people, the busyness, the narrow streets, the lack of parking spots, and not to mention how overwhelming it can be because there are a million beautiful houses and streets to shoot at!! All these were things that kept me in fear of shooting in the city, but thankfully I have done it....and LOVED IT! The Charleston charm, the brick and architecture, the peeking sunlight, and overall southern and romantic feel was well worth it! Anna and David Geurkink were the absolute best couple to shoot on Friday night ! The love and laughs they share were lovely to capture!
Thank you for reading and viewing this blog! If you are interested in an engagement session, I'd love to hear from you!

I really love photographing proposals and was excited about the opportunity. Colby (Carol's son) was bringing his girlfriend (Taylor) along for the family session and wanted to propose while taking photos. Carol and I worked out the details and we anxiously awaited the big moment! Boone Hall was a lovely venue and I visited the day before the shoot to scout out the area. There were SO many gorgeous spots to take pictures. It was hard narrowing it down and I only saw a small portion of the plantation!
After taking family photos, I switched gears and said we would do some single portraits and couple's portraits. It was after those photos we had planned for the proposal to happen. I quietly whispered to Carol if everything was going okay and how exciting it was, and she said it was definitely going to be a surprise for Taylor!
As I was taking photos of just Taylor, the boys did a sneaky switch and slipped the ring to Colby! PERFECT! I asked Colby where he wanted to take some photos with Taylor and we proceeded to walk to a beautiful spot under the Oak trees. They just casually posed as I got all my settings ready and began to pose them and take pictures. After a few quick minutes, Colby turned to Taylor and spoke to her... and then dropped to his knee! It was beautiful and Taylor was genuinely surprised and in shock!! They soaked up the moment and then began to give hugs to the family watching with anticipation. After seeing many happy tears, laughs, and sweet conversations, I told Taylor that we were doing an engagement session ( if she was okay with that:)!) Of course she was excited about it and still in shock, but the images captured after he asked her to marry him, are so sweet. So romantic and filled with love and happiness. I loved capturing these moments and wish them the very best as they begin this new journey and life together!
This Charleston charm is to die for - make sure to scroll to the END (my favorites are there!!)
This image (on top) was a quick little pose before he was going to turn and ask her to be his bride!! She had NO clue what was about to happen!
Thanks for checking out my blog!! I hope you enjoyed it.

Here is a wedding styled shoot from last fall at the breathtaking venue in Louisiana - Honey Brake Lodge. This venue has a rustic and natural charm that appeals to nature/wildlife enthusiasts as well as high end clients. The lodge and cabins sit high above the ground in the trees and float with the spanish moss and chirping birds. The lake view makes for the perfect wedding ceremony site and romantic images! I was flown down last fall to do two different styled shoots as the wedding venue was just launching. I love the Louisiana air, the heat, the sandy roads, the trees, and most of all, my family that lives there! It was great being able to see them and be part of promoting this wedding destination. Enjoy!

They love Colonial Dorchester State park here in Charleston for its unique features, history, and natural beauty, and so it was the perfect spot for me to capture their family's pictures. As for all my clients, I want my pictures to remind them of the sweet and precious relationships that are captured... the laughs, the kisses, the whispers, and the love between them all. Now that I am a mother of a sweet little boy, taking family photos has become more dear to my heart as I want to treasure each moment with my family and remember it forever.

Charleston is by far the prettiest and my absolute favorite place I have ever been ( and I have been all across the US) ! The trees, the historic buildings and roads, the ocean, the boats and marshes, the dolphins, the palm trees, the sand, the weather, the turtles (I was literally chased by one yesterday), the people, the restaurants, and more. Those are just a few of my favorite things! We are just missing our sweet families and dear friends. We love you all!

"Come back and see us Courtney and Anastasia" - Caleb & Lydia
My husband, baby, and I went on a walk Saturday night after eating at a cute little place downtown. We started about a block or two from the battery ((https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Battery_(Charleston)) and then walked to the park along side it. The homes that line the streets are just insanely gorgeous. I kept hopping in out in the street to take photos of gardens, fences, window boxes, and doors. These simple little things are a big deal down here, they really make the homes what they are! It was so fun to explore and photograph some of the homes we passed by - I hope it gives you a little taste of Charleston's charm! ~enjoy
Come see us and enjoy our beautiful city!

Here is a peek of our home and a walk with my sweet boy in the lovely neighborhood next to our apartment! I'll be blogging photos of downtown in the next few weeks. I will be settling in a little more before booking portraits and weddings but I'm excited what the future holds for me and my new clients!
Something I absolutely loved about Philipp and Meredith's wedding was how much emotion there was! The love that everyone had for the bride and groom was so evident as well as the love between the bride and groom themselves! There were so many happy tears, laughter, and hugs - I loved watching and photographing it. Take a quick glimpse of the ceremony, bride and groom portraits, bridal party, the beer garden, and reception! It was a sweet celebration and day to remember !
Thank you Meredith and Phillip for allowing me to capture your wedding day. May the Lord bless you both as you begin your marriage together !

Once I arrived at the guy's house to take pictures, I found them all having a good time together and best of all...eating ice cream as they were getting ready:) They were having a good ole time as they prepared for the big day !
Jeremy and Sarah both had unique and special things they asked me to photograph, and for Jeremy it was his cool R2D2 cuff links! I love how each person and each couple has distinct tastes and special pieces that mean something to them. It's crazy how much you learn about someone by those special things!
I got to do Jeremy's portraits on the Savannah sidewalks and I loved all the iron work, trees, and historic buildings that added beautiful character to these images!
After Jeremy's portraits, it was time to head to Old Fort Jackson for the first look!
At the historic fort there was a boat dock and that's where the groom eagerly awaited seeing his beautiful bride in her wedding dress.
Their first look was short but sweet...and I know they will cherish that moment forever! Glad my second shooter (my awesome hubby) got out on the rocks and took this shot!
I just love how happy they both are in this photo!
Yay, they are married!!
And they lived happily ever after!! Thanks Mr. and Mrs. Earnest for allowing me to capture your special day! Best wishes!

]]>The weekend was a sweet and lovely celebration!
Meredith and Philip have such a crazy and awesome story in how they met and fell in love! She was just a girl from New Knoxville, Ohio when she went to Germany in 2009 to be an Au Pair for a sweet couple, Peter and Demetria. They have four children and two of which were Meredith's age. Little did she know that while she was there that she would fall in love with their oldest son, Philipp! She quickly became part of their family and loved each of them dearly and became another sibling to the youngest kids, Sophia and Tony. Over the weekend, the love of the Werner family towards Meredith was so evident hers towards them. There were so many happy tears shed and so much love shown! It had been about 7 years since they all met for the first time and 7 years to the day that Philipp and Meredith had been together, so the wedding day was a special and significant one.

Sarah is a sweetheart, fun loving, and easy going person. She truly cares about people and her laughter is so genuine and contagious! I met her several years ago as her family and mine have involved with the same ministry in Michigan. A few months ago Sarah reached out to me about her upcoming wedding and I was thrilled at the opportunity. Sarah and her fiancé, Jeremy, picked such a cool venue in Savannah, GA and I was excited to make the trip down and be a part of their special day. Sarah and Jeremy are such a sweet couple and they have such a unique love story. They were never "technically" introduced but somehow began hanging out together and then falling in love ! Their affection and love for one another was evident and I know the Lord will bless their marriage.
Sarah and Jeremy's wedding weekend was filled with festivities, fun, family, and lots of love. Sarah and her bridesmaids were gifted with being able to use a lovely mansion on the ocean as they prepared for the big day, and I loved photographing them there! The home was exquisite and elegance was in every detail, which made photographing the Bride, the bridesmaids, the Bride's jewelry, and dress, even more elegant!
Look at this GORGEOUS entrance and GORGEOUS dress! The iron work was stunning and so was the detail on the wedding gown!!
I love Sarah's smile as her mom buttons up her dress and she gets ready for her Big Day! And don't you just love these beautiful arches with these lavender dresses and lace wedding dress!?!
I love all the lavender and vintage colors! Everything just looked lovely!
Look at the Bride rocking her cow girl boots with her wedding dress! Elegant and Southern!
This is one of my absolute favorites! It's just breathtaking! Sarah, you made a beautiful bride!!

]]>Let me tell you...I was super stoked about this session. I met the Vera's for the first time over the summer when my husband and I started attending the same small group as them. Little Sophia is absolutely adorable in every way and her parents (Crystal and Martin) are just as kind and gentle. I had the privilege of hanging out with Crystal and Sophia one afternoon in the middle of the summer and enjoyed my time getting to know Crystal and hear of the Lord's kindness and faithfulness to their family. A couple months ago, Crystal told me she was interested in doing a family session and I couldn't have been more excited! They chose Cherokee Park as their session location, which I love, but never shoot there because I always get lost trying to navigate through it!!!! With that being said, my husband was kind enough to help me scout the area before the actual session:)
I Love the woodsy and dreamy look to these images and had a great time laughing and talking with the Vera's as I took them. Sophia did awesome and loved the huge green grapes her mom kept popping in her mouth:) It was also a joy just taking some images of Crystal and Martin, their love for one another was so evident and beautiful! Enjoy these sweet photos!

I also want to say how important family time is. My favorite memories growing up and some of my favorite memories now are times spent with family. Take time to cherish your family and make the most of the moments the Lord's gives you. Be intentional to have good and deep conversations that make an impact! I want to look back on my life and not see "waisted opportunities" but instead loving and sweet memories.
Here are some images from the family outing to collect the sap !
Nathanael had a blast finding barrels that were full of the sap. It was fun watching him.
Abigail and Hannah using their muscles to take the large barrels to the trailer.
Love these two cuties! I also love my sweet sister and spending time with her!
This was abigail's idea...she gave Bruiser a little break and comfy ride down the trail.
Mom and dad make such a great team!
The sap from the trees was pure white and tasted sweet! Crazy and not what I expected.
What a big helper!
Working hard!
This snowy pictures are taken just two days later when a blizzard hit! We got the sap just in time!

I have been wanting to take some pictures downtown and push myself to get even better with particular equipment I have and this was the perfect opportunity. There are a couple professional photographers (Katelyn James & Amy Demoss) that I really respect and I glean a lot from...so this photoshoot was inspired by them! Enjoy~

The SHOOT: Normally I go and scout out the location before a photo session, but I knew the Burlagers well enough that it wasn't going to be a big deal and I felt pretty confident on the location we decided to go. Hahah...well, I met at their house and followed them to the park outside of Louisville. We drove on a windy road and over a small mountain (lol) when we all pulled over and had a little chat on where exactly the shoot would take place. The spot the Burlager's and I wanted to go was to the top of the mountain but guess what- the road was closed to the top. So, I looked around and where we had pulled over was actually a good spot where the gorgeous sunlight was peering through the trees. We decided to bail out of the car and make that spot on the side of the road work, and it did!! Sweet Quill did a good job considering how absolutely freezing and windy it was...my fingers practically froze off as I was using my camera! Anyways, they were all troopers and we got some beautiful winter images that display love and joy!

I was able to shoot their Christmas card photos last Christmas and then was asked do family portraits this fall. The Scott's picked the PERFECT location! Robyn told me they wanted the photos taken in Anchorage, KY but I had never been there...so, a couple days later before the photo shoot I took my sister Rebekah to Anchorage and we had a blast walking the trails and bridges of Anchorage Trail. It was raining and practically no one else was there but we still had a great time! I was excited to come back a few days later and shoot! Once the Scott's and I arrived at the park on Sunday, I was shocked how many photographers and families were there! The trails were so beautiful and such a popular place for pictures. I hope you enjoy these images of this sweet family, the beautiful fall colors, and location!

About two weeks ago, my husband and I took several days to visit my family in Michigan. We had a great time having fun and just being together. While there, I had a photo shoot scheduled and it was almost rained out...but thankfully, the rain stayed away and we got some great shots! Little Levi and Kinsley were great little subjects for the warm afternoon:) Their mom did a fantastic job of bringing lots of props and toys that made for some cute country themed photos. Here are just a couple photos of little sibling shoot! <3
ps. shout out to my awesome sister and assistant that came and helped, as well as Malorie's mother-in-law who kept the kids happy and brought props!
Before the wedding day approached, we had been praying that the Lord would keep the rain away, and He did! The ceremony was held inside a chapel while the photos were taken at the Life Action River Lodge. The trees, lighting, flowers, and grass give vibrant colors for the outdoor photos - for that I am very grateful:)The bridal party was super fun and gave me lots of laughs. I know they were thankful for great friends and people who made their wedding day so special.
I want to give a shout out to my awesome assistant, Hannah Johnson, who was a tremendous help to me for 8 hours!

This past week I took some photos for a wedding designer's website. I absolutely love details and macro shots of things..especially flowers and anything floral. Here is some of my work!
I am finally getting my business into the swing of things here in Louisville! I am almost done with my associates degree and am looking forward to giving my time to invest and pursue what I enjoy - capturing images, being creative, having fun, interacting with people, and enjoying the outdoors with my Nikon. I recently had the pleasure of doing two photo shoots that involved children...and those my friends, are my favorite! How can I not like snapping a photo at the perfect time when a baby laughs or a child giggles with glee. I love it and I am looking forward to seeing what opportunities lie ahead.

Welcome to the website. I am excited about the new professional viewing and ordering I am beginning. I look forward to how it works out!
As you may know, I just returned from doing an internship with Stroud Photography, in Southaven, MS. It was a humbling and growing experience to be with Photographers who are more experienced and more talented than I am. I did learn many valuable things and look forward to stretching myself even more. Last week I did my first newborn photo session! It was quite the experience. I was almost peed on! Photography can be dangerous:) The pictures turned out beautifully and I look forward to posting some images soon.
